TERMS AND CONDITIONS
CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURES and CLEAN DRINK FUND operate in partnership with established and accredited tour operators in Nepal and Ecuador. Our role is to serve as the conduit to assist our team members with their services. If at any time you would like to speak directly with our partner agents, please contact us and we will be happy to make those introductions.
All CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURE and CLEAN DRINK FUND trips will specify a dedicated date when firm booking commitments are accepted. If you have questions about a trip or how to secure your place on that departure, please contact our office. On the day the bookings open, the limited spots may fill quickly, so be ready to book on–the day of registration. Booking is largely arranged on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Official booking requests must be submitted on the CLEAN DRINK LAST MILE TEAM form which will be made available on the day booking opens. To be notified of that date in advance, it is advised you complete the pre-booking LAST MILE TEAM FORM.
1) Wait for the booking date to open for your prefered trip. Booking dates typically open 5 months prior to trip departure.
2) Fill out the booking form immediately on or after the booking opens.
3) Our office will contact you if we can accommodate you on the trip.
4) Secure your spot with the payment of a deposit.
Confirmations and Deposits
Once your space has been confirmed by our staff, you will need to make a $500 deposit within 72 hours. The deposit is non-refundable 30 days after payment is received. Should you need to cancel your reservation after 30 days, the deposit will be forfeited and allocated as a donation for the advancement of the philanthropic project. Deposits can be made via credit card, wire transfer, or check as long as payment arrives within the time allotment.
Final payment and TRIP pricing
Given the remoteness of the locations we serve, and the long lead times prior to departure, we cannot guarantee pricing will not change, although we will always strive to keep those adjustments as small as possible.
Final payment must be made 60 days prior to your trip departure but can be made anytime prior for your convenience. Funds are held in a trust account for security until 30 days prior to departure at which time they are transferred to the tour operator. Payments made after the 60 day timeline will be assessed a $150 fee. All pricing is listed in US dollars.
Single Supplements and extra booking services
Some tour departures may require additional fees for single-supplement accommodations. If we are asked to assist with additional booking services for extra hotels, ground or air transportation, we may require an additional fee.
Changes and cancellations
Cancellations made within the first 30 days will permit a refund of the original deposit minus a small $50 transaction fee to offset costs assessed to our office. Cancellations made in the last 30 days prior to departure will forfeit all funds paid. For this reason, and to protect yourself from unforeseen circumstances, we require travel insurance.
Required Travel Insurance
To defend against loss of any monies paid or other expenses, we require all guests have comprehensive travel insurance. We recommend Harbor Travel Insurance or World Nomads. Those services offer various options of coverage including basic medical assistance services. Proof of insurance is required for our tour opeators in Ecuador and Nepal.
Recommended Travel, Rescue, and Medical Evacuation Insurance
We venture to remote locations where medical resources are limited and basic. As a result, we strongly recommend securing insurance capable of responding to emergencies in those areas. We have conducted extensive research and trust Ripcord by Redpoint Resolutions above all other services. It is the only service which allows you to easily package rescue and travel insurance features in one convenient policy.
Again, we strongly recommend you book your insurance through Ripcord by Redpoint Resolutions.
We require proof of a valid Passport 60 days prior to departure. Your passport must be valid for 6 months after your return date to be eligible to travel. For adventures to Ecuador and Nepal, you can acquire your tourist visas on arrival. We also require two additional passport photos to be mailed, or emailed to our office 60 days prior to departure.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Failure to provide a copy of your passport or passport photos, will likely require us to remove you from the trip as we will not be able to arrange for permits and travel logistics in Nepal without them.
Health, Safety and Disclosed Abilities
Given where we travel, we recommend every guest visit their doctor for a routine physical. It is up to the individual traveler to assess which vaccinations and medical precautions they need to take. Any recommendations we give should not be construed as medical advice. We're not medical professionals.
CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURES and the CLEAN DRINK FUND act as booking partners for our trip facilitators in Ecuador and Nepal. We bear no responsibility or liability for the actions of our travel partners.
We will do our best to vet the abilities of our guests and accurately disclose the physical demands imposed by each adventure, but it is solely up to the guest to ensure they have the ability to meet those physical demands. For motorcycle tours, we require all riders have at least one year of motorcycle experience and have held a motorcycle license endorsement for that full year.
Removal from an adventure
If at any time during a trip we feel you are unsafe for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from the itinerary and will make arrangements for your safe and comfortable return home. Your safety is our first priority. If you are deemed unpleasant to other guests or residents of our host country, you will be removed from the itinerary and sent home at your expense.
Assumption of Risk
We travel to remote, undeveloped, and at times uncertain parts of the globe. We cannot protect our guests from all risks relative to food health, disease, or injury by any means. Travel can be dangerous and accidents can and do happen. We are not liable for mishaps and accidents to the extent Colorado Law allows. By sending in your deposit and agreeing to the terms spelled out here, you agree to the statement below:
You release, waive, discharge, hold harmless and agree to indemnify CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURES and CLEAN DRINK FUND and its employees, agents, licensees, guides and other representatives from all claims, actions or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services, indirect or punitive damages or otherwise which may arise out of or occur during your travel in connection with the tour or any activities conducted in conjunction there within unless caused by the willful negligence or wrongful act of CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURES and CLEAN DRINK FUND or its employees; and Regardless of the situation or circumstances giving rise to the claim you waive any claims you have, or may at any time have, against CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURES and CLEAN DRINK FUND and its employees and you agree, by accepting the additional inherent dangers and risks associated with the tour, not to make any claim against or seek any compensation from CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURES and CLEAN DRINK FUND and its employees in respect of any personal injury, illness or death suffered by you or damage to or loss of property sustained by you as a result of your participation in the tour.
Force Majeure and Unforeseen Circumstance
CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURES and CLEAN DRINK FUND are not liable for events and circumstances out of our control. We cannot guard against, nor are we liable for: fuel strikes, political riots, landslides, terrorist attacks, closed roads, delayed flights, mechanical breakdowns, political disruptions, disease, civil unrest, cows in the road, monkey bites, or any other acts of misfortune we cannot control.
We reserve the right to change itineraries, schedules, or any other travel arrangements as a means of working around unforeseen events and circumstances.
In the event CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURES and CLEAN DRINK FUND are forced to cancel a trip prior to departure due to force majeure, your full payment will be refunded within 14 days. Your airfare, booked on your own, will need to be reimbursed through your travel insurance policy.
Our guests are responsible for booking their own international flights. We are available to offer scheduling suggestions and travel recommendations, but we are not responsible for delayed or cancelled flights, lost bags, incurred expenses, or any actions of the airlines.
Understanding of scope of risks
By agreeing to the terms above you accept that travel comes with risks. You also agree to have fun, be cheery, and spread goodwill as you go.
