Like many good things, Clean Drink Adventures and the Clean Drink Fund, started…by accident.

While working as a journalist, Christophe Noel accepted an assignment to report on the water health crisis in the remote reaches of western Nepal. To get there he enlisted the help of professional guide, Vishu Sijali. It was a chance meeting on Facebook that brought them together. Only hours after meeting in person for the first time they sped off into the mountains, their destination unplanned. They could not have known what their combined futures would bring.

In the weeks that followed, during a rigorous expedition, a friendship was forged. As Christophe and Vishu traveled through the Himalayas, it became apparent what had to be done. Rather than just witness and report on the struggles of the Nepali people, they set out to make a difference. It was a bold decision, but they vowed to dedicate their lives to helping the people of Nepal.

It’s been quite a wild ride since then.

Today the Clean Drink community consists of thousands of donors and supporters.

Our vast and growing network now includes doctors, global health advisors, and water science experts. Our primary technical partner, MSR Global Health, is the world’s most advance water science laboratory. On the ground in Nepal we work closely with federal, regional, and tribal leaders and employ a team of Nepali facilitators to ensure we maintain our most important directive: To empower the people of Nepal with the resources needed, to help themselves.

Do something different. See things you have never seen before. Have fun while helping others. Hard to go wrong unless you let the opportunity pass you by. - Christophe Noel, Founder

Since our first unplanned foray into the Himalayas, the Clean Drink team of travelers has expanded to include dozens of people eager to discover Nepal while leaving behind a positive, and lasting impact. Every spring and fall, that team grows. Together they have provided safe drinking water solutions to more than 10,000 people in the most remote reaches of Nepal.

There is no bigger adventure than helping people on the other side of the planet. Are you up for it? We think you are. It’s now or never. - Christophe

On behalf of Christophe and Vishu, we invite you to join the expedition to make a lasting change. We want you to help us provide the people of Nepal with the tools needed to live better lives. We guarantee you, your life will be better for it.

As many as 44,000 small children in Nepal have died in a single year as a result of water and sanitation related illnesses. This is why we do what we do. You can help.

THE CLEAN DRINK FUND is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. All donations made to the organization are tax-deductible in the United States. We work in tandem with our Nepalese registered partners in collaboration with regional and federal Nepalese government agencies.

In order to maximize our impact, we do not maintain a local office, we pay no salaries, and strive to direct every dollar to the end recipients in Nepal.

The boys of Gabar are now advocates of our work in the lowlands of Nepal. They have trained dozens of others on the use of the SE200 water system and educate countless more about the importance of water healthy. This is how we do, what we do. We empower our Nepali friends to help themselves and thousands of their fellow citizens.
