This is our most exciting adventure. On this expedition we begin in the lowlands of the Terai region near the Indian border. There we spend two full days with a host village as we deliver safe drinking water solutions to villages and schools in the immediate area. This is a part of Nepal with elephants, rhinos, and even Bengal tigers.

Discover the Nepal no other visitors get to experience and leave behind the gift of safe drinking water.

With our water projects in full swing, we’ll spend the evenings learning about life in the Terai. We’ll enjoy local foods prepared by our professional cooking staff and take in cultural dances and songs. Before we get too comfortable in our host village, we’ll hit the road to explore Nepal’s beautiful mountain scapes.

The highlight of this trip is our time spent climbing deep into the Mustang Valley under the shadow of the world’s highest mountains like Dhaulagiri, the 7th highest summit in the world. We’ll ascend to the monastic town of Muktinath at a high point of 12,500 feet before descending to our most scenic camp below the ancient village of Marpha. Eventually we arrive in Pokhara, Nepal’s famous adventure city. If you still need more excitement, we can arrange for a sightseeing flight of the world’s tallest peak, Mount Everest at 29,029 feet.

The final days of this one of a kind adventure are spent in the ancient city of Kathmandu. There we’ll explore the narrow streets of Nepal’s city of kingdoms, and revel in our good-deeds-done.

Every CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURE includes two full days delivering safe drinking water solutions to local communities in the Banke District. This jungled region of Nepal is verdant, lush, and teaming with life. Home to wild elephants, rhinos, monkeys, and more than 200 Bengal tigers, it is also home to indigenous cultures like the Tharu tribe. Sadly, it is an area frequently devastated by waterborne illness.

Every year thousands of young lives are cut short by fouled water. Join us and you can make a positive change.

Each LAST MILE TEAM member makes a lasting impact on the health of the people in the Banke District. The donations raised through our easy-to-use fundraising platform go to purchase the tools needed to empower our friends in Nepal. You then get to deliver those resources directly to people in need. Each project becomes a fun and exciting cultural exchange, a chance to connect with people who just need a little help and are always happy to receive it.

I never thought I would get to visit Nepal. I certainly never thought I would get the chance to travel there to help save lives. This was the most exciting and rewarding thing I have done in years. Nepal is amazing. - Alex Cyphers

We’re proud to have partnered with Vishu Sijali and his expert staff at Altitude Riders. With decades of combined expedition experience, they cater to our every need. In Nepal there is a famous saying, guest is god. They live those words with unrivaled hospitality.

The other reason we use local guides is to ensure we adhere to our own travel sustainability standards. Every dollar we bring into Nepal stays in the country and helps stimulate local economies. In return, we’re shown the real Nepal, the magic kingdom so few get to see. This is luxury travel, Nepali style.

The Indian-made Royal Enfield motorbike is an icon of the Himalayas. They like to say, “The 350cc Bullet is built like a gun.” They’re tough, durable, and extremely fun to ride.

For those who want a tad more comfort, a bit more suspension travel, and more modern ride controls, we can also put riders on the new Royal Enfield Himalayan. The more expensive bike is slightly more delicate, and costs $300 more to rent, but we can put one under you if that’s what you prefer.

*We require all riders have at least one year of licensed motorcycle riding experience, and one year of riding on mixed surfaces.

A CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURE is rugged, but we also love to be comfortable. Our hotel partners in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Butwal offer luxurious accommodations with superb service.

When traveling in areas where hotels are not available, our world-class support staff create a posh camping experience complete with table linens and warm tea delivered to your tent each morning. We use the best camping gear available provided by our partners at MSR in Seattle. Each team member gets their own private tent for your comfort. You may be camping half of your time in Nepal, but at no time will you rough it.

There is nothing more exciting than riding through a busy city in Nepal. It’s a circus of humanity, trucks, cows, tuk-tuks, and chickens. I love it. - Carl Jonsson

We want our team members to enjoy the ride. To that end we travel with a support truck complete with our own master mechanic, RamDev Baba. He can fix anything in no time at all. Because the motorbikes we use are small, our Bolero pickup truck does the heavy lifting and hauls all of our gear. All you have to do is ride and enjoy the scenery.

The roads in Nepal, even the good ones, are rough and always in terrible condition. Riding in Nepal also requires good skills, the ability to adapt to changing conditions, and confidence to ride in unpredictable environments. Although the off-road conditions are not exceptionally rough, the roads are bumpy, long, and our motorbikes are quite basic. Such is motorbike travel in Asia. We encourage you to carefully assess your fitness and comfortability off-road before joining this particular trip. The three days into the Mustang Valley are a bumpy ride.

We can't do our good-deeds without the financial means to do so. Fundraising is a critical part of our program. Clean water solutions simply cost money.

To help streamline our fundraising efforts, we have partnered with MSR Global Health. Our fundraising campaign is hosted on their website and makes for a fun and easy way to generate excitement and donations. We help every team member meet their target goal. Some may want to reach far beyond the $1000 target. Some of our previous team members, new to fundraising, generated in excess of $6,000. It’s easier than it looks and every dollar raised helps people in need.

This has been so much fun, and so rewarding, I want to do this every year. This is way better than a vacation. - Chad Dannen

Our pricing structure reflects a commitment to compensate our Nepalese partners with a fair wage. Undercut pricing is common in Nepal’s travel market and something we aim to avoid. At the same time, our intimate knowledge of the country allows us to offer the best travel value in Nepal.

Because we travel to remote locations far removed from normal tourist routes, our prices include expenses other operations don’t include in their fares. Each trip includes two domestic flights to the western portion of the country. Hotels are quite cheap in rural Nepal but simply do not exist along our chosen routes. For that reason, and to ensure your comfort and safety, we travel with an expert staff and cutting edge camping gear. Tent accommodations and preparing our own meals costs considerably more than hotel stays, but we feel it is necessary for your enjoyment.
